The first week here at Oak Ridge
Having finished the wonderful lives in summer, we eleven future scientists came here to Oak Ridge, each seeking for his/her own desire on knowledge. The first few days are really difficult for me, as my mentor gave me some books and papers, which I totally don't understand what it is talking about... But later on till today, I feel I am getting better and gradually like the topic I am reading! It is about polymers, which we didn't cover a lot in undergrad organic chemistry. OK, let's forget about the works, and switch gears to look at the apartment we are living in. We all live in a pretty big and nice decorated and cleaned apartment, called Rolling Hills. I was amazed on the first day, as everything was prepared and provided by the Rolling Hills (maybe by the ORISE....I don't know exactly), and there were even trash can plastic bags..... I feel thankful and appreciate all the work done by ORISE and ORSS. Tomorrow is gonna be the last day of the first week! I am very excited. Oh, yes...We will start the inorganic class tomorrow, but I still haven't received the book from Amazon yet.....I hope Prof. Watson won't criticize me on that......Good night~
